How does ADSL work?
ADSL service makes use of your telephone line by splitting the frequencies in the phone line (copper wires) into two different bands. A higher frequency band and a lower frequency band. The higher band is the one that carries the ADSL service while the lower one carries your phone service. This allows you to talk on the phone at the same time as surfing the web!

How long does it take to get ADSL service?
Once all of the paper work is filled out, it takes about 5 business days to get service.

Do I need to have a phone line and/or separate line for ADSL?
You need a phone line for High speed ADSL connection and you will be able to use the phone at the same time as surfing the internet.

What do I need in order to get ADSL service?
In addition to have a working phone line, you must also have a computer with a working Ethernet card/Network card to get connected to ADSL service. We will supply you with an ADSL modem, Ethernet cable and phone filters ($3.00 per filter) to get started. You must have everything that is plugged into a phone jack filtered. Phones, answering machines, gaming consoles etc must all be filtered.

What is a phone filter?
A phone filter is a small in-line device required for ADSL installations. The filters eliminate line interference to telephone phone equipment when the equipment lines share the same line as the ADSL service.

How do I install the phone filters that were provided to me?
-Unplug your telephone cord from the wall jack
-Plug the phone cord into the single filter, or into the double filter in the port that is marked “PHONE”
-Plug the LINE end of the filter into the wall jack

What speed can I expect on ADSL Internet connections?
There are 2 types of speed often referred to when using the Internet, the speed of the service you receive and the speed you will realize. The speed of your service is up to 6 Megs on ADSL service. Due to network protocols the realized speed for these services is often greatly reduced. It may also be reduced by a number of parameters including the speed of the server you are connecting to, the over all congestion of the Internet at any given time of the day (when school is out more people are using the Internet), the type and quality of connection you have, how far from the central office you are and how fast your computer or local area network (LAN) is.

How much data transfer do you allow your customers on a monthly basis?
Maximum data transfer is the total traffic going to and coming from your connection with ISP CANADA including any traffic created by file sharing such as Music, Movies etc. and any traffic created by Viruses, Spyware etc.
Monthly limits on data transfer vary by service. Check the services page for the service applicable to you.

Is your ADSL Internet connection unlimited?
We do offer unlimited hours or 24/7 connections for our ADSL service.

What are your hours of technical support?
We offer 24/7 Internet tech support. Although, you will find you will rarely - if ever need it.
To have the best qualified staff look after business or accounting matters, it is recommended you call between 8am and 5pm Mondays through Friday, if at all possible.

How many computers can we have on one Internet connection?
Your connection to the Internet is made to a single computer or a gateway/broadband router. The number of computers or servers you connect to the router is up to you. Please remember, the more computers you add, the greater the impact on the performance of your Internet connection.
Please read the Conditions of Agreement and Internet Acceptable Use Policy.

If I need to travel with my computer, can I bring my modem and get connected?
ADSL service is attached to your telephone line. What this means is that it will only work from the location the phone line is attached to. If you are on the road and need to check your email, you would be able to via our Web Mail.

I will be moving soon. What do I need to do?
If you are re-locating you must contact us at least 5 business days prior to moving to deactivate the service from your old address and reactivate it to the new address.
